Dr. R. K. Sapru holds a Ph.D. in the field of Organic Geochemistry and Oil Spill Monitoring. He has also earned a post graduate diploma in Intellectual Property from NALSAR, University of Law, Hyderabad and is a registered Patent Agent.
He has extensive experience in the upstream oil sector and held the position of General Manager with the largest producer of Oil & Gas in India. He has had exposure to practically all the aspects of upstream industry like exploration, drilling, production, enhanced oil recovery, water injection, speciality chemicals, corrosion mitigation and reservoir monitoring. He has published and presented a number of technical papers on oil and gas in reputed national and international journals and has also been invited for lectures. He is a registered Ph.D. Examiner for Chemical / Petroleum Engineering departments of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. Besides being a hard-core technical professional of the upstream industry, he played a pivotal role in introducing awareness of intellectual property in the upstream industry.
Dr Sapru is a Senior Patent Consultant at R K Dewan and Company for the last three years and has acquired skills for conducting novelty searches related to oil and gas, automobile engineering, chemical engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, material sciences and the like. He is sufficiently experienced in the drafting of a patent application, patent prosecution, drafting of opposition and the like. He likes to interact with clients and guide them for filing intellectual property in India and other jurisdictions. His interests also lie in the business development. He has represented R K Dewan and Company in a number of conferences / seminars. He is also fond of writing articles on intellectual property and reading novels.
